Dinosaur Exacavation and Taphonomic Research Project

The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers and cities; but to know someone here and there who thinks and feels with us, and though distant, is close to us in spirit - this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden.
Johann von Goethe

The Black Hills and Other Area Sites

The Black Hills region of South Dakota is a short drive from the Project Site. There are organized "field trips" to several of these that have geological or paleontological interest. However, the region is a very beautiful area for vacation or family time. Take advantage of participating in the Dinosaur Research Project to also visit this interesting area.
